Problems with AppleTV status

@postlund, just as a little bump in this thread I can now confirm that it works much better. Disconnected the ethernet and running it via WiFi.

Yes, thank you for reminding me! Did you upgrade to tvOS 15 yet and using the beta component l? Otherwise I would suggest that as a start since it changes how things work a lot.

ATV is upgraded to TvOS15 but not sure how I get the beta running on my core installation of HA. I can look into that tonight and plug the Ethernet cable back in to see if the results are the same.

good evening @postlund! Beta version installed and ATV updated, running it via WiFi (which worked much better before) but now it´s stuck in Idle mode. If I want the sensors to update I need to reload the configuration. When I added the Beta as a custom component it found both my OLED LG Tv and my ATV as both of them are listed as airplay units I asume. Need some logs or this is a common issue?

State should not be stuck, likely because of connection problems. Logs to troubleshoot would help (help is at the bottom of README.md in hass-atv-beta repo). As you write, your TVs are found because they are AirPlay devices. Not sure if they will work or not, haven’t tested.

Yeah neither did I, I will try to connect it to the ethernetcable again and re-add it (different IP due to static ip address) and get back to you if it works better or with logs. Won´t bother you more tonight since it´s friday so enjoy it and thanks for the work your doing with this integration, it´s super neat when it works

Hello all,

I’m still fairly new here and like to experiment with HA.

But now I also run into a problem with apple tv 4k.

Installed beta version and integrated apple TV into HA.

But if the Apple TV is turned off for a while and I turn it back on, it always stays on STANDBY in HA and does not change to PLAYING or IDLE!!! No matter what I do it stays on STANDBY.

If I restart HA everything works normally again. Does anyone have an idea how I solve this?

Thank you for your response.
