Problems with IOS app, works on local network but not from internet

I am running the latest 1.1.1 HA IOS app on IOS 12 and when opening the app on the same network as my Pi running HA, it shows my local Hom Assistant. If I shutdown wifi on the phone and go to 4G or go to another persons house running wifi (so a different network) and try to enter my Internet IP in the URL (I have a fixed Public IP), so http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8123 and I have also tried https as well and I have tried this with both a password added as well as no password nothing happens, all I get is a blank white screen. I have tried to enter into the URL the IP address as well as a password and SAVE, but it then comes up with the Connection Error “The internet connection appears to be offline”. Now I have done a port check from the outside world and can see that port 8123 is open and checking my router I can see that the port is definitely forwarded to the correct internal (or LAN) IP for my Pi. Is there something else that needs to be done in the Pi to allow that port to be accepted from 0.0.0.0 I am running the latest downloadable Pi3 Image from the site.

Thanks
Ian

Update to the latest version of the iOS app as per this thread https://community.home-assistant.io/t/public-beta-testing-is-now-open/70450
And you should be good to go even though it is still in beta it is pretty rock solid (well it has been for me anyway)

Thanks Bluey, I already have Testflight installed, but I would say the Beta testing is only for the USA App Store and not the rest of the world. I am on the Australian App Store and there is not Public Beta Apps available, I still need a “Redeem” code before I have access to test any Apps, so it would appear I will have to wait until it is taken out of Beta and released WorldWide before I can get it.

Thanks
Ian

Update on that, it would appear I needed to re-enroll my iPhone into the Beta program. I’m not sure why this was required as I had already enrolled it a while ago, but it is now working,

I recently joined the Apple Developer program due to some experimenting with Swift and there may have been a problem at that time that I was not aware of.

I have downloaded the Beta version and it has logged in and so far all looks OK. I will do further testing over the next few days to see how it all goes.

Thanks
Ian
