I’ve got the file, opened it in a text editor and I can’t actually find a reference to my password or username. I’ll change my password regardless.
Has anyone else run into any issue with the southern-company-hacs integration after the latest update? I added some screenshots to the existing issue but wanted to double check. @Lash-L have you run into this?
Hello again and I appreciate you maintaining this integration! Do you know if it’s possible to replicate the Energy graph via an Apex chart using the “Southern Company Usage” statistic? I am only able to see the individual “average” sensors within Apex and cannot tie into the statistic that drives the Energy chart. Any help would be appreciated!
I use Nicor also and would be willing to help get this integration setup with them. What do you need from me to get this going?
The url is https://customerportal.southerncompany.com/
Their dashboard does show daily usage.
I too would be glad to help getting this integration setup and working with Nicor.
Would it also make sense/be possible to get this merged into the Opower integration that was just added to HAC 2023.8?
I actually talked with the dev who made the OPower integration before he started making it. Unfortunately, Southern Company doesn’t seem to expose their opower information, so we don’t have a way to use it.
@Lash-L should I be seeing a static kWh cost of 1$? Is there a current price entity I should be using?
nvm, fixed it.
thanks for working on this integration.
I have Mississippi Power and have just come across this. Will try it out tonight, but thanks in advance for everything that’s been done thus far!
Does anyone know how to capture the information in the Energy Dashboard (statistics) as a regular sensor (to graph on other cards)? I know this integration exposes a few sensors but they don’t appear to line up with what the Energy graphs show. The Energy graphs match the Southern Co graphs exactly by each day. I’m mainly looking for the “Cost” component which has a Statistics ID of “southern_company_hacs:energy_cost…” under the Developer Tools > Statistics tab. I’ve been banging my head against this one for a while now and appreciate any help!
Hey @lash-l with what @tfc87 is seeing now, does this mean Southern Company is now exposing the needed information?
I just integrated the southern-company-hacs and it is working as expected. I wanted to see how to also pull in the energy received from our solar. Can anyone point me to the source of this data and whether Southern Company releases that detail about the energy used/received on a daily or hourly basis? Thanks @Lash-L this project is awesome!
What version/type of Home Assistant are you running? I tried to install it but I’m getting an Authentication Error when signing into to my Nicor account.

@tfc87 You should be able to add the cost to the energy dashboard if that’s what you’re talking about - same way you added the current usage

I’m sorry- what is your question? What needed information?
Can anyone point me to the source of this data and whether Southern Company releases that detail about the energy used/received on a daily or hourly basis?
If I recall correctly, that is available - but not currently in this integration. I don’t have solar so it was not something I added.
I tried to install it but I’m getting an Authentication Error when signing into to my Nicor account.
Nicor is unfortunately not supported
Thank you for the reply…I was trying to get the cost information into an APEX card but unfortunately I’m not advanced enough yet to figure out how to turn a statistic into an actual sensor or if that’s even possible.
@lash-l I also posted this on your github, I was hoping that the information that was provided by @tfc87 was sufficient to get Nicor working. I see in your response that it isn’t supported. Is the lack of support due to their configuration or have you simply not build that support yet?
Nicor is not support - and unfortunately probably will not be supported.
Since I do this all as a hobby I have limited time to work on everything. And when it comes down to it, I have a lot more users on some of my other integrations that I spend the majority of the time I have to code in my free time on. I would be happy to work with anyone to add it, but I cannot personally add it myself with the time I have available now or in the forseeable future.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong. But I set everything up and I can see the static values, but in the energy tab everything is 0. It has been about 24 hours after setting it up. @Lash-L any ideas?
ps:
Usage is correct, but the monthly cost is also wrong. It’s about $70 off at this moment based on my bill. I’m also on the EV plan, in case that impacts anything?
Is there documentation anywhere for the apis, or is it all just reverse engineered?
I have a local energy meter, so I don’t need power sensors/stats, however ideally i could find a way to pull the rate info dynamically. So far I manually update a set of template sensors each time the rates are updated.
Anyone having issues with this integrations on the latest HASS version? Seems like it doesn’t want to accept any credentials.
I updated last night and mine also stopped working. I thought it was just me.
