Raspberry PI + Zigbee solution without using an USB Stick

Hi All,

i’am looking for a supported zigbee interface which doesn’t have to be attached via the “outside” USB port. Does this exist or do i have to change the PCB to lead a usb port somewhere “inside”?

Thanks so far.

I’ve only heard of a Z-Wave coordinator which connects to the header pin serial interface.

There is no internal USB interface on and RPi headers - only serial.

There’s (wired) network connected options:

Thanks for your replies.

i see. but what i’am looking is tied to the raspberry pi. i want a all-in-one device. is this not possible? otherwise i host it on a VM and buy a zigbee-ethernet device.

Not sure why it is tied to a RP ?
If you are looking for an alli-in-box solution, have a look at:

I suggest reading #8 to help others help you (otherwise we can only answer what you ask):

Because of the sensitivity of RF interference I think you’re going to find you don’t necessarily want an ‘internal’ device.

Check post after post after post after post about getting the zigbee radio AWAY from the Pi. Not nearer. Or inside.

For reference there’s a video related to HA zigbee and 3ghz RF interference that illustrates the point very well on HAs main YouTube page.
