I have a HA OS installation and also a Growatt with an RS 485 converter
on my Gigabyte Brix.
I want to read out the Growatt via the modbus. Is that possible?

I own multiple Growatt inverters. But for this test a 4000 TL3 XH would be available
I have connected the RS-485 (pin 3 and 4) to my (clone) EW11 and can choose the communication settings (Server / MQTT etc)

On Growatt I’m not using the Serial Number as they seem true random, unlike Sofar, SolaX & Solis. But I am trying to use the Firmware version to differentiate between the different models.
Could you let me know the first 3-4 characters it returns and from which address?
You’ll get an error in your log with the details.
At this stage you won’t really get any useable entities returned. But it won’t take long following feed back on the above to get started.
Sorry for the late response. I opted for the existing Growat dongle in combination with a Shelly that monitors the generated energy.
