Remote access and security

Hi,

I am new to HA and just getting started and so far love what it can do, I already have a lot of devices connected and tracking using mqtt.

My question is I want to enable remote access which I know how to do but how do I stop anyone viewing HA? In Apache I would use accounts but can’t see how this is do in HA?

The only thought I had was a IP blocker to only allow certain IPs to give basic restriction but my IP will change sometimes so not great.

There’s also a number of existing threads on the subject - I’d advise a search of the forum for the full detail.

You can use Apache, NGINX, or any other reverse proxy to control the access (that’s what I do). That’ll allow you to control the access however you want.

Here is a thread I bookmarked in case I ever needed to do this. But actually my home is automated such that I have not found external access necessary, which is the most secure way :slightly_smiling_face:
