Something isn’t working.
The template editor is for: editing templates. That doesn’t appear to be what you are doing.
If you are trying to define a sensor in YAML, you have to: define it in YAML.
That means editing your configuration.yaml file, or whatever the appropriate files are if you split your configuration.
