Setpoints in Automations

WTH,

Why can’t we set setpoints in our dashboards that are used in automations. This makes it way easier for the users of the system to tweak the settings for example the startup audio volume, or shutter percentages.

The automation creates a setpoint when that option is used. For example, you create an automation that opens blind to X percentage at 10:00. in device>actions you select use a setpoint, you give that a name and it is created as an entity.

Now you can tweak that setpoint in your dashboard.

You can. Store your set points in input numbers. They can be tweaked from your dashboard and used in your automations.

Using the new Weekly Schedule helper to control temperature?

I have an automation that lowers or raises my thermostat temperature based on the current energy rate (peak or off-peak) and if the unit is heating or cooling. It changes the set temperature by an even greater amount if the house is empty or everyone is in bed. In winter at my house this is actually cheaper than switching the heat pump off and scheduling it to come on before people get out of bed or get home. Not letting everything in the house cool down actually lets the heat pump work less. Th…
