Setting up a Dome Leak Sensor in Home Assistant

I just purchased a Dome Leak Senor for my home automation since I’ve had water issues when I bought my house.

The device is getting added when I looked at the States tab - one entity is a binary sensor that I renamed as binary_sensor.dome_kitchen_sink_water_sensor and the other is the zwave device called zwave.dome_kitchen_sink_water_sensor.

Now, when I sit the sensors in a bowl of water, the device makes an audible noise, but Home Assistant is not detecting a change in state or anything.

Is there another step I am missing? Perhaps in the Configuration/Z-Wave tab?

UPDATE: I was able to get it fixed by removing the node and adding it back again.

I followed these instructions:

Here is what I tried and works for me. But it’s a pain in the a**. Go to Configuration -> Customization -> your device (zwave) Change the attribute is_failed to true. I also change the attribute is_ready to false and is_awake to false Restart HA. Double check if HA takes these changes. Go to Configuration -> Z-Wave -> Entity : Your device Hit Refresh Node, if it take more than a couple of seconds to execute, then it’s working.
