The post you reference uses ESPHome and the Home Assistant API. Updating ESPHome levels should not cause the Shelly to go off-line.
The first step is look at the total situation. Make sure the WiFi is available at the Shelly and the power is working. Have any of the wires broken or loosened? Is the Shelly IP address active?
Worst case, pull the Shelly out of the garage and program it again with ESPHome via a direct cable connection.
Thanks. What I ended up doing was deleting the automations and entities associated with my Shelly1 from HA and then re-installing the firmware on the Shelly1 using ESPHome. All seems to be working now.
I noticed when I added the garage control back to my dashboard, the control doesn’t have the stop square between the up and down arrows.
