A friend of mine just made this great post of getting an EM setup with Tasmota firmware on an American breaker box: Whole Home Energy Monitoring
hi. did you figure this out? i have a similar setup - 100A service + 48A solar. My solar production into my service is 2 cables though, not one. appreciate the feedback.
You would need two EMs
yep, thatâs what i used. thanks
hi everyone -
thanks so much for this write up op. very helpful.
one question - when you say the line goes to the breaker, do I hook it up to the line between the breaker and the panel, or after the breaker to its destination?
edit: seems like the after the breaker would protect it a little better and be able to shut it off, but I didnât want to assume
Hook what?
Clamp you can put either side, it doesnât matter.
But donât wire your Shelly before breakerâŚ
sorry i wasnât clear. I was referring to this. its just to power the shelly, so it could go before or after a breaker. makes sense it should be protected by a breaker, and thus go after
Havenât been in the panel box since I installed but if I recall correctly, yes I connected it after the breaker.
