Oh wow, thanks for posting this. I’ve just spent a very long time trying to figure out why my automations aren’t working. However, I guess there’s nothing I can do about it and my planned automations will never work. Sad!
Another question: How can I find out things like this for myself? Is there a log somewhere that shows everything the button sends? Still a n00b in Zigbee…

EDIT: Appologize for the stupid question, the manual was in german and I did not understand that the pair button is next to the battery.
can you please help me with a basic issue.
I use the gateway from Lidl (HG06322) with Tuya Smart app.
I have serveral deviced that work fine, form lidl, sonoff, Hue.
Today I also bought a Lidl smart button SSBM A1.
the issue is that on Tuya I do not have dimmer in the list of decvices, I tried as other, switch, remote, and none of them worked to link the smart button.
can you please share what i should choose in order to pair the button with th gateway?

Thanks! Works great. Before the quirk the button was detected as a switch (with an on/off status). Most likely due to this I wasn’t able to use the button in any automation because the ‘pushed once’ and ‘pushed twice’ options were not available. Pushing the button once resulted in putting the ‘switch’ on but I couldn’t get it ‘off’ again by an automation. The only way to change the status to ‘off’ was pushing the physical button twice.
After installing the quirk the device is detected as a button and the switch status of the device is, rightfully so, shown as ‘not available’.
Great solution that enables the usage of the button in many automations!!
