Simple Sunset change only colors Automation Elgin

I even tried with chatgpt but nothing.
I migrated everything to the locally hosted Home Assistent.
But there is an automation that I can’t do, but I had it in the Elgin app.
Execute it to make the lamps orange. But not change the on and off status or toggle.

I tried everything but I couldn’t. Any suggestions?

When I try a scene, only a complete control appears without being able to ignore the on and off option.

Thanks

Hi peleias,

I’m sure that can be done. Also having someone or something writing it for you means the second it misbehaves, you will be struggling back to find someone to fix it for you.
The best way to learn is to just try. Run thru the docs on getting started with the automation editor. If you get stuck, come back with what you have done.

I was looking at the documentation but I couldn’t find a way to change the color of the light without using the light.turn_on action.

Is this really true? I even asked chatgpt and he told me this.

Just checking, because if you don’t have to “take the long way around” for each device (an automation for each lamp if it is on during the evening and a scene for each lamp with turn_on for orange color and brightness).

(Unlike Tuya and Elgin App, which have an automation that only changes the brightness and color state without needing turn_on)

Yes. I believe that is true. If a light is not on you cannot change it’s color, the color is off.

If a light is on, you can change it’s color and light_on is how.
