Hello,
I have Home Assistant running in a qemu VM under proxmox.
I now installed a SkyConnect dongle for setting up a zigbee network.
A pass through is configured for the SkyConnect usb port to the VM.
No to the problem: according to the documentation, SkyConnect should be recognized automatically in HomeAssistant and should show up under Hardware and in the Integrations as “SkyConnect v1.0”. But that is not the case for me.
I was able to add ZHA integration manually and select the usb port of my SkyConnect there. Everything works fine after that, but it still shows up as “CP2102N USB to UART Bridge Controller” and not as SkyConnect. Also under Hardware I can only see the ttyUSB0 but no “SkyConnect” entry.
Can somebody explain, what the reason could be for that? Could the reason be the virtual environment?
And my 2nd question: is there any drawback when leaving is as is? With the missing SkyConnect in Hardware section I cannot to firmware upgrades for the stick itself. That is not nice but would be ok for me. But are there additional drawbacks like for OTA upgrades of Zigbee components, etc…
