I’ve been using a Yale Assure SL (YRD226/246) with the Zigbee module for years. Hasn’t skipped a beat.
Hi All,
Has anyone integrated the Yale Smart Mortise Lock YDM7220 into home assistant? It looks to be pretty new to the market - seems like it was released mid 2023.
I’m in the market to replace a mechanical mortise lock and there are not many options for a smart version. Thanks
Haven’t used the ones you linked but have installed the Yale Unity Security door lock. So far it’s been ok. I’ve integrated it into HA. Just need to add an esphome Bluetooth proxy closer to the door to improve reliability of the connection as my only esp32 is about 10 metres away and through a wall.
Got anymore info on how you did this?
Hey do you still have this lock integrated in HA?
Sure do
Has anyone integrated Auslock smart locks in HA?
cheers
Ali
In 2024 what seems to be the go to easiest door lock to add to HA?
Got a new build early next year so looking for options
Does the gainsborough trilock work?
its a shame they still don’t have a version for the Trilock Omni Back to Back. (Trilock Omni Back to Back Double Cylinder Pull Handle Entrance Set)
Hi all - I have recently seen the Mercator Ikuu Smart Lock (Bluetooth Entrance Lock | Ikuü ). Does anyone have any experience with this, as it is reasonably priced against competition and looks like a good product? I’d be keen to hear what others think about the likelihood of connecting this the HA over BLE.
I want to fit a smart lock to my glass sliding door but the distance between the sliding door and the sliding fly screen is only 40mm. I have searched all over the place and cannot find anything that will fit. Has anyone seen anything that might fit? I would prefer a knob to a handle.
The other alternative is to get a Yale Unity Screen Door Lock to go on the sliding fly screen. I am pretty sure that it would work but it is my second preference. I am also not sure if I would need to purchase the bridge that comes with it. What can be done with this lock in HA with and without the bridge? Can anyone comment on this?
you can build a bridge that adds mqtt/http support here: GitHub - mcchas/ble-freestyle-client: ESP32 BLE client for Gainsborough Freestyle Smart Lock / Trilock
i don’t recommend it - but you can use this module (plus a freestyle gateway) to access the lock via their cloud services GitHub - mcchas/freestyle-client: TS/JS API client for Gainsborough Freestyle Tri Lock
Hey mate, just following up on this as there is a sale on at Officeworks. Can you control the lock in HA or just see sensors?
Just wanted to ask if anyone had the Yale unity lock?
Looking to get the Yale unity security screen lock?
There isn’t much information about it.
It says it’s got wifi and Bluetooth.
And home assistant integrations suggested using Bluetooth or Bluetooth proxy but then at the bottom of the page it mentions that the security key will change if you use other apps.
Does anyone use the Bluetooth integration?
Just wanted to ask if the key will change or not??
Has it been stable and does it work correctly???
Does HomeKit use BT or wifi?
I’m abit reluctant to get it as no one seems to have it. And the key changing factor is just weird.
If I use HomeKit only do I need a HomeKit hub??? Someone above mentioned that it needs BT rather than wifi.
Anyone had any luck with mortise locks? I’m tempted to get mine filled in and start from scratch.
Or! Curveball: would an electric door strike be better?
Any luck with this? thanks
Your Level Lock+ is ready for Matter | Level. Been waiting for this for a while as this totally shields the smart aspect. So here are my questions:
- Since this will be my first Matter device I need a Matter-over-Thread hub controller. The official Matter integration (Matter (BETA) - Home Assistant) allows me to add this I don’t need any other controller in my home, right?
- How far apart can the controller and the Matter device be? In my case it’ll be around 10m with a wall in between
- For those of you who have a Level product in Australia where did you get in from?
You need a Thread border router for Matter over thread devices. Matter over Wifi is stand alone and does not need anything but the Wifi network and making sure you have ipv6 enabled.
You can either get another Skyconnect and set it up in thread only mode or get another dedicated device to act as a border router. In my setup I have a Skyconnect for zigbee and a GLS200 as my thread border router.
Since I have a Google Nest shouldn’t I be able to use that as border router1?
Also I saw your other post about moving away from Matter over Thread. The Level Lock+ doesn’t seem to support Matter over Wifi so I have to understand whether your situation applies to me…
If its listed under the supported Thread hubs there then its a Thread Border Router.
My setup I was using a GL-S200, as other than getting another Skyconnect at the time there was limited options for non Google or Apple based border routers that were stand alone, the newer SLZ ethernet controler has a thread option now as well (I may see about getting that and comparing restoration of configs next year once I have more funds to do so, I also need to validate if I am just unlucky when it comes to thread credential resync/update or its just specific to the setup since its happened twice so far).
For reference my setup I have it on a NUC running windows 11 pro and use Virtualbox to host the HA instance so its easy for me to use snapshots to restore to a functional state should an update cause issues as I update and rotate them out just before I do the main update as a failsafe, just like I do with system images for my systems in the event a windows update goes belly up.
I’m trying to rely on a little 3rd party and cloud based services as I can and am testing how easy things are to restore when an issue comes up that requires it and post my findings.
So far only the thread setup has failed my requirement for ease of restoration in this specific configuration.
sorry wall of text a little, just making sure I clarify things as best as possible lol.
