I forgot to say, that afterwards I set to “no cost” on the radio button, save, and set the static cost in order to force the creation of the cost.
Thanks this is very helpful, that’s the miss-conception that I had, but it makes sense that it should only calculate from the time you configured it, to support price updates.
This continues to be a problem for me but only for certain devices. I have tried almost all the work arounds listed here – I found that if I add the devices electrical that are not calculating cost to “Gas Consumption” in addition to the Electricity Grid, then the cost is calculated in both Electricity and Gas. When I add the Gas Consumption Gas Source, it creates a second hidden “devicename”_cost2 entity. If I remove the Gas Consumption source for the item the cost stops being calculated in the Electricity List.
Is there any way to retroactively update the kWh price ?
Price? I don’t think so. Only KWH, not sure why there’s a restriction on this.
I’m not sure my question was clear…
I configured my dashboard today and it shows I used 100 kWh last week.
I’ve set the kWh price at 0.2 €.
Can I force it to calculate past energy cost and show I spent 20€ last week?
No
