Dont know where the inspriation for the UI come from, grabbed a 320x480 wallpaper from google images that caught my attention and went to work!
Yeah, thats right, the transparent effect is not really transparent, its as you say, the icon with the matching background area to get a pixel perfect line up.
What I also didn’t want was what I spotted with @marcfager design with the rounded corners being included. The icon border is 100x100, with the icon image itself being 80x80, this gave me enough padding around the outside to only need the background and wallpaper included in the image.
I’ve got a Paint.NET file that has it all in layers… changing the wall papers a PITA cause it means i gotta regen every icon I use.
If only these had transparency…
