Support for reading Multical 21 water meters

You can use this gateway too for Kamstrup Water Meters. They are all Kamstrup Multical 21 / FlowIQ water meters. Which are supported by the Kamstrup-IR gateway too.

nice that my experience was useful to someone :slightly_smiling_face:
here, the meters are changed by law every five years. I’m already thinking with a little worry if I have to go through the whole mess again.

Better late than never! Yes, I’m using this solution for my Multical 21 here in Estonia. Works great right out of the box and is very stable.

Any tips how to position the ā€œKamst-IR eyeā€ on the water meter?
I have a flowIQ 2200 and a Kamst-IR all setup but I get no readings…

Any luck with that? Are you sure the ā€œsending LEDā€ is lined up with ā€œreceiving ledā€ and vice versa?

Which Swedish municipality was that?

I asked mine (TrollhƤttan) and got the answer that this was no problem at all, we have a subscription service for that. Just EUR 20 per month! In addition to a one time fee.

20 per month for the key?! Or do you mean a cloudbased api?

For the key! I have asked them for a service description to be 100% sure. I’ll keep you posted.

That’s ridiculous. I would understand a one-time administration fee for providing the key, and maybe a fee for when you want to have it changed (which means they need to switch your meter to a different one), but a continuous monthly fee for something where they have zero effort once they handed you the key is completely unjustified.

That was Mjƶlby, and 20 EUR per month subscription is ridiculous as stated before!

Just cite the EU GDPR law… ā€œRemember that those whose data you process (referred to as ā€˜the data subject’ in the GDPR), have the right to know exactly what data you are collecting aboutā€

cheers

20 in month is ridiculous!
Still, citing GDPR here could be also trap to yourself - ā€œOf course we give you all your data, you just need to give us 20 eur month for collecting and handling.ā€
