I use the lifx integration services (set_state and effects). So it has to be option (a) for me as they are not available when using Homekit.
Likewise. I do expose some light groups to HomeKit from Home Assistant for UI/UX consistency, but that’s about it.
Avi, have the changes in your custom component been merged into the core?
I’m still using the custom component.
I think they have equivalent functionality now, albeit with different implementations. I no longer use my custom component but I’m also no longer a code owner for the core integration, so make of that what you will.
Oh dear.
When I go to remove the integration from HACS I get this warning:
Does that mean I have to delete all my lifx lights?
There are 50 or so customised entity_ids and names!
No, just click “Ignore” … the core integration and custom component use the same config, so it’ll just load up your existing devices and entities.
Thanks Avi. I had no issues reverting to the core integration.
