Tasmota mqtt prefix error

Just installed the latest version of HA and am getting a new error repair notification.

Home Assistant 2022.11.0 Supervisor 2022.10.2 Operating System 9.3 Frontend 20221102.1 - latest

" Tasmota device Tasmota has an invalid MQTT topic. Tasmota device Tasmota with IP 192.xxx.xx.221 does not include %prefix% in its fulltopic.

Entities for this devices are disabled until the configuration has been corrected."

Trouble is I have no devices on that IP Address, let alone a Tasmota one.

I do have other Tasmota devices on other adresses and they still work fine.

Anybody know how I may track down why I am getting this? Thanks.

A few basic bits of MQTT troubleshooting data:

  • Have you tried installing a MQTT tool like https://mqtt-explorer.com/ and seeing which IPv4 the broker is seeing the messages being published from?
  • Are there old retained messages that are need deleting that could cause this error?
  • Have you installed:
    • Mosquitto broker Add-In or a standalone broker?
    • HASS MQTT Integration ? (probably as you get an error…)
    • HASS Tasmota Integration? (HASS or Tasmota discovery - SetOption 19 0 ? )
  • Do you have Tasmota older than v9.3? (as needed for Tasmota Discovery)
  • Where is this error message please? From the Tasmota Integration perhaps?

An install guide might help compare settings if you can locate the source of the errant MQTT messages:

If this helps, this post!

Thank’s I will look further. MQTT explorer shows no data from this non existent tasmota device.
I cannot re flash a non existent ip device. None of my tasmota devices are on the reported IP address and all are running ver 10 or above.
Everything was fine before the latest HA update.
Running the Mosquitto broker.
