Actually in about 18 months you’ll be interved by an ai for your habit and it will press the correct sensor for you. To won’t need to dig in sql.
I can do it now but I need a lot of very careful prompting… Not for prime time… Yet.
And no I WILL NOT show the actual sensor. Sorry. A good bayesean had your habits in it. When I get up when I shave etc. Yeah it’s that granular of you know how to read the or have an ai read them.
I am however working on a way for people to replicate the result.
I’m no Bayesian expert, but I just love fiddling with them, I’ve got statistics counting hours room is occupied to help with data.
Building occupied statistics for each room and rhe the while home. Started by building an Elderly in Distress Bayesian in YAML configuration before @HarvsG released the GUI version recently.
Using motion sensors, door entry, person detected etc.
More automations and helpers for Bayesians than I’d care to count. Gauges all over dashboards displaying probability. History graphs etc.
And just recently, I stumbled upon a Hacs integration by Hankanman, Area Occupancy Detection.
It works upon the Bayesian built in HA, and is quite interesting so far. I’ve only used it a bit so no expert. If interested check it out here. Extensive documentation. It helps new users perhaps, still some thinking required.
Thanks for highlighting @G2740! I also just pushed a big update, driving towards full machine learning, happy to answer any questions here. I too used to configure a lot of bayesian sensors, the integration is essentially a set and forget. It learns from history, determines its own priors, dynamic prior based on time of day, all automatic. There is a lot you CAN configure but you only need to choose 1 motion sensor, a HA area, and an area purpose for it to work. The more data you add the smarter it gets!
Happy to spread the word @hankanman. I have the new update, I didn’t change anything much or settings since updating and it is running my Elder in Distress much better without changes.
First night without an elder in distress count.
Still looking at it actually. I set Living Room as the Area and use as bedroom to try that auto switching from LR to BR and back again. It must have helped.
I’ve added an Aqara FP300 presence sensor to the living room and in AOD, and there’s a P1 motion there also.
Trying to detect breathing. Under a blanket
Your work will be instrumental now and in the future as folks discover it. I try to spread the word here and there, Reddit, Meta etc.
HAOS Bayesian was always powerful, just difficult to understand, and actually a lot people didn’t even know it was existed.
Your Area Occupancy Detection makes it so much easier and does much/most of the work behind the scenes.
I’m going to drop it on X too in their feed maybe it’ll help the HAOS devs notice.
Kudos and Accolades! Massive Bayesian improvement.
