I’m seeing a lot of mention of performance per currency unit spent. But at what cost would this be? I think, for an always-on device, the amount of energy consumed while idle is an important factor as well. I’ve seen people use an old small form factor PC for home automation, thinking they were saving some money, instead of going with something new, like an RPI4, because “more performance”.
