Now when OpenZwave 1.6 is finally released and the activity in the OpenZwave project really gotten high is there any timeline for updating OpenZwave included in Home-Assistant?

Goed question. I’m also interested to the answer. Hopefully the branched HA code and the 1.6 OpenZwave code could be merged.
its a fairly major update, and not a straight drop in replacement for 1.4 so its going to take a while for HA to catchup.
But first things, the python-openzwave wrapper needs to be updated for 1.6. There are a few people looking at it, but nothing concrete has happened. If you are good at Python, maybe head over to https://github.com/OpenZWave/python-openzwave/issues and see what you can do to help.
