Well, finally got around to IKEA and bought my first Tradfri (regular white) bulb, after following tutorials that said to turn it on/off 6 times, bring it close to my Hue hub and turn off all other Zigbee lights, it paired using the regular Hue app (on the 3rd attempt, so definitely worth it to keep trying).
So far I have had no issues with it, compared to my previously used regular bulb + Z-Wave plug I get the added benefit of dimming, all my scripts/automations work fine with it and I haven’t yet seen it disconnected from my network.
The next step will be to buy a color bulb at some point and see what I can do about future firmware upgrades, I was thinking of getting the Conbee USB stick but also saw some positive feedback about the Zigate. Decisions, decisions…
