I disabled the discovery in the configuration and completely deleted the images of the other containers and then restarted home assistant and now i see the z-wave
Thanks for putting up with my total ignorance on the issue, i am happy to finally see progress
No worries. When you’re “learning from zero” it’s always interesting. Docker is both a help, and a hinderance. I’d highly recommend purchasing a Pi3 and using it instead if you can.
Thanks again.
I have thought about the RPi but reading on some forums i got concerned about sdcard failures. Have you experienced any problems with it?
Today I have finally turned my first light switch on/off. Now I will have to do some studying on how to configure the switch in the config.
SD card failures are mostly down to power issues. Either because they skimped on the power supply and felt that the 2.5A stated requirement is overkill, and went with 2A (or less), because they bought a cheap power supply that doesn’t really put out the claimed amps (or volts), or because they’re using a low quality USB cable (or a very long one).
I’ve had zero issues on any of my Pi3 units, one of which I’ve had running continuously as a Plex server since about April last year.
