Whats the easiest way to get Brilliant Smart (a tuya based app), integrated with HA?
It’s the only tuya based app still compatible with ifttt as far as I’m aware.
Just so you know, Smartlife and tuya apps are working again with ifttt. Otherwise you’d just haven’t to use the “platform” option when trying to sync the brilliant app with HA default tuya integration.
Setting the platform to Brilliant Smart doesn’t seem to be working, what do you mean they are working “against with”?
I meant that Smartlife and Tuya is now working with IFTTT again! The auto correct messed it up.
Oh that’s amazing thanks!
cross posting this here as someone here might be able to help. the more i look at it, it seems that there is some remote integration on tuya’s site that’s reporting a light as a switch. no clue how to dig into the remote api further. is that documented someplace?
HA code - https://github.com/home-assistant/core/tree/dev/homeassistant/components/tuya
which uses https://github.com/PaulAnnekov/tuyaha
there is minimal documentation for the api - https://github.com/PaulAnnekov/tuyaha/issues/22
Thanks for sending that over. At this point, it seems as if the problem I’m having is on Tuya’s side. I sent an email to their support but have not gotten a response from them. They have a faq and when i search for home assistant, I get 36 pages of responses, so I’m guessing they should support it just fine. Given the cost of the light, I should just buy a new bulb and toss this one - but it’s still really bugging me.
have a look at https://github.com/ollo69/ha_tuya_custom - you may be able to override the device type?
Replying here for completeness. After some long conversations with Tuya, they said it was the bulb manufacturer’s problem (Teckin). I contacted them and they eventually said it was a firmware bug in their light. They pushed out an update and that fixed it.
Strangest thing is that one light worked, one light didn’t, and they were packaged together. But the way they had the bulbs configured with Tuya was that one was a light and the other was a switch?! New firmware fixed it though and it popped right up in HA.
I installed the Tuya app on my phone and installed the blinds motor that I purchased. In the UI when attempting to add my Tuya account it keeps telling me invalid credentials. I checked mutilple times that the information I’m inputting is correct but no matter why I try I cannot get passed the integration screen. Any advice?
which tuya app - smart life or tuya smart?
( they are almost identical, but the accounts are seperate)
so platform=tuya
You could try using the yaml mode?
me pasa lo mismo que a ti y no soy capaz… en usuario pongo …@…es y la contraseña pero me pone credenciales no validas…
alguna sugerencia?
i dont even get that far. i get the “please wait for the integration to be installed” then nothing
I have finally reinstalled HASS.io (moved to a new house where I can set up everything), and the Tuya integration immediately detected two Tuya-based fans, but they still didn’t detect my two Tuya-based Medion smart plugs that the Tuya app (and Google Home by proxy) have easily detected. Are there any specific plugs that the Tuya integration can’t detect? I am rather loathe to installing new firmware because I also appreciate the Google Home compatibility, and setting up Google Assistant with HASS is a bit of a hassle.
what sort of plugs are they? single control single socket? or a 4 gang type set up? (the former should be supported, the latter is unlikely).
They are single plugs that were sold by Aldi in Australia:
in that case, no idea - “simple” plugs are usually picked up with no issue…
