Whenever I try to save an automation (new/motion or zone) it’s not appearing in the list after saving. However they do seem to be writing to the automation.yaml file. I can see references to “test” automations I’ve made. How do I get them to appear in the GUI?
I’ve also attached a screenshot of where the yaml file sits in the file editor to convey that its in the right folder

Welcome to the HA Forum.
Don’t worry, you will get the hang of it. Using the GUI editor is the place to start, all automations you create with it are stored in automation,yaml file.

I read the tutorial and deleted a block from an old automation that must’ve been corrupting the configuration.yaml file. Now all my automations are visible and I can finally have some fun.
I’m having the same problem after latest update and I’m not new to HA. Automations are saved to automations.yaml but not updated in the list nor the counter in the search field is updated.
Restart did not help.
Solved my own problem, if this happens to you just clear the cache of the companion app. After that things show up again.
