Where to buy Xiaomi Mi Smart Home and which version

Hello everybody new to hass and interested in using the Xiamo Mi Gateway and components. I noticed there are a couple of versions out there and multiple vendors.

Which version integrates best with hass Gateway 2 or 3? (Interested in the 2 since its cheaper but prefere the easiest integration)

I noticed multiple versions of the sensors can I use v2 components like the following? http://bit.ly/2DA6MZY or the http://bit.ly/2F7XgcW?

I guess what Im trying to get at is what works best with what and with hass.io

Also I noticed multiple vendors from amazon, banggood to aliexpress - which one is best I guess for deal with?

I’ve found that GearBest usually has the best prices, I’ve ordered almost everything XIaomi from them. Wait for deals though, they regularly have sales and give out discount codes. (not sure where you’re from, a search for GearBest / Xiaomi discount codes should find you some good sites.)

I have the gateway v2, but if I bought now I’d definitely go with v3. (It has a built-in IR transciever)

The sensors you’ve linked to are v1 sensors, I went with v2 cause they look better (in my opinion) and the v2 ‘Body’ sensor also measures Lux and comes with the mounting foot. (The door sensor only has cosmetic changes in v2)

Thanks @mvdarend do you happen to have links to the v2 sensors none of these sites seem to label their products correctly. My fear is buying v1 products. Thanks again

Here are the ones I have ordered in the past:

Door/Windows sensor: (only difference with v1 is cosmetic)

I’m not sure of this, but if I remember correctly an ‘Aqara’ sensor is v2

Thank You one last question I’m in the US do these come with US plugs or will I need the adapters?

You’ll need an adaptor for the gateway and smart plugs. They only come with a Chinese plug.

How do you tell which version the gateway is? I’m not seeing this specified in the listings on gearbest (by itself or with other sensors included). Are v3 gateways for sale anywhere?

The v2 Gateway can also play online radio streams, that’s the only difference with v1 as far as I know.

Not sure if the v3 is available in store at the moment, haven’t come across it yet (but I haven’t really looked for it.)

I am currently using Gateway v2 with a combination of v1 and v2 sensors.

I like the GW2 as it has some built in sounds that can be triggered, as well as the ability add your own MP3 files. (I believe GW3 has this ability too).
It also has a built in RGB light which I use as a night light, as well as having a built in Lux sensor.

Remeber though, if you want the xiaomi buttons, v1 has more features than v2 (long press).
