I’d really like to be able to set the inclusion/exclusion policy for what gets written to the recorder database and the InfluxDB integration with the entity, rather than listing the entity_id in the configuration of the recorder or influxdb component.
Ideally, I’d use the customize UI or just add an a property in the YAML configuration as appropriate. This makes it easier to have it all say up-to-date in the event an entity_id gets renamed along the way.
More generally, it would be nice if I could add other properties to entities that I could use in automations, rather than having to maintain policy/state for an entities in multiple places.
