WTH Do non-cloud users have to expose entities to Alexa/Google via YAML?

The UI for cloud users to expose entities to Google or Alexa is really neat. Recently also Assist has been added.

It would be really awesome if also non-cloud users of Google or Alexa could benefit from this good user experience. I also saw a thread about Homekit, maybe worth to combine all of this.

P.s.: I just prefer not to use cloud and decided to donate to the project instead. Please don’t try to convince me to switch :wink:

If I understand the documentation correctly I need to configure everything in JSON. Not a big step forward from YAML :wink:

it’s not perfect yet by any means, but it makes the connection from my googles to HA so much better!
