WTH doesn't toggling > 1 item sync their states

Today I was reminded why Ive never once used any of the toggle services. I will continue to pretend they don’t exist :+1:

Just like everything they have their uses in the proper context.

There are very few things that I can see where you want to have a group them do exactly the same thing all the time. lights are definitely one of those. Maybe window blinds/awnings. Nothing else that I can think of.

But there are group functionality for those and then you can use the toggle and get expected behavior.

Fans and heaters (via smart sockets for instance) as well. Maybe something else but definitely not only lights

I didn’t actually say “only lights” and of course you can always come up with niche cases.

But you can always group those devices as well. Both fans and switches (smart outlets are switches in HA) have associated specific group platforms just like lights and covers.

then those grouped devices show up as one single entity that be controlled directly as if they were one physical device.

Ok, not “only lights”. Nevertheless I’m not going to argue here and already support this

I’m not not arguing either.

I’m just pointing out that it’s already possible in HA to do what the general point of this WTH is and that the “toggle” service isn’t useless.
