When I add a device to Home Assistant, I usually start off directly by creating automations. E.g. an automation with a device trigger:
Then at a later stage, I discover that the entity_id is a bit generic, and I change it
After that, the automation no longer works, because the trigger has become ‘Unknown’.
This is unexpected in my eyes, because when I select such a trigger from the dropdown, I don’t expect it to link to an entity_id, but rather some sort of link to the device.
I’d like to hear what anyone else thinks about this.
