You are off-base and completely missing the point here.
I suggest you alter your title and topic summary to reflect what you’re really requesting here.
E.g.
WTH Why can’t I adjust history via the UI. etc.
Right now, your title implies that you can’t adjust the retention. And your body complains about only being able to adjust it in yaml.
