I agree that it shouldn’t be on by default, as it makes the structure of the code more difficult to understand at a glance, but we could make it a toggle: WTH is there no line wrap toggle in the code editor?
I would see myself switching between modes as I tinker with code from my phone (having to scroll every two words also makes code more difficult to understand at a glance 
)
