WTH why can’t I create a date/time helper based on an offset of another date/time helper

I’d like to be able to create helpers based on an offset from another date/time helper.

This is to support use cases such as; allow user to set a time that they want the hot water to be ready to shower each day (regular date/time helper), two background helpers work backwards from this to I) set the hot water heater start time II) set the underfloor heating in the bathroom to come on.

You can, but you have to use templates for it.
