WTH: Why is there no console password in HAOS?

Currently, the default root password is blank and can’t be changed. This is basic OS security practice and a bit surprising that this issue exists considering HAOS is based on Linux which does not allow blank passwords by default.

Please let’s give the user the option to configure root credentials to secure the OS that powers our homes.

Probably because the only way to access that CLI is by physical access to the device. And if a bad actor has that then there is no stopping them.
