WTH Why so hard to schedule a thermostat change?

Coming from the perspective of a complete newb, why is it so hard in the GUI to create a simple automation to change the set point of a thermostat at a scheduled time each day?

Why isn’t it as simple as:

Select thermostat from drop down
Select days of week
Select time
Select temperature
Save?

It’s getting easier.
