the one good thing about zigbee2mqtt is you can control the channel zigbee is using, this way you can keep the wifi channel (if using 2.4g) far away

i am still playing with the zigbee2mqtt and will progressively move over if stable enough, i already have a couple of osram lightify bulbs on it and it seems to work fine

I think it’s network instability. I had a crappy wifi router with frequent disconnects and the Xiaomi sensors would frequently become unavailable. I changed to ubiquiti wifi and now everything is very stable.
