Really excited to use this but I keep getting an error- MJPEG streaming port is already in use. Any one else having this error?
Tried to use it on old Samsung tablet with Android 7 (SM-P555) Not connecting to the camera. Will try on different OS
Great project, thanks a lot. One question, Audio ist not available in the audio stream right? i didnt get any sounds from the stream. Would it be possible to get a rtsp stream?
Iam asking because i would like to use it for stream assist / voice assist with openwakup.

This is exactly what I was wanting. Now need to finish work to get it installed and tested
Got it installed and seemed to work when set for 15 seconds but now not working (set for 10 minutes) I have reinstalled, rebooted etc. any suggestions at all please for me to try when I get chance ? do I clear the data from the app and reinstall and try again ?
also set to launch on boot and each time I have to manually start the app. Will have another tinker as just seen about activity launcher above and will see if that helps in any way
UPDATE
Found an extra setting for apps and set it not to do anything with this and home assistant and all good now (apart from needing to do an odd reboot).
Thanks again for this
YAKK just got an update…
It now includes orientation selection as an option, which is a great help for my 90 degree off issue.
So try it out…and as always…THX to the awesome maker of this piece of software
Thank you for this great App. It works perfekt on my iPlay 60 Mini Pro.
Not sure if it’s an issue with Amazon Fire HD 10 13th gen (2023), but though the camera preview in Yakk works, it doesn’t wake on motion. Same issue with the HACS WallPanel. Removed Lock Screen pin. Camera and on top of other apps permission.
This app is AWESOME, thank you for adding that! This is the missing puzzle piece to make the HA companion app work perfect on my wall tablets.
I would love to pull the video from the cameras into Blue Iris. I turned on Enable Camera Stream, and I’m able to view it in a web browser on my Blue Iris PC. However, I have not figured out the correct configuration to get it to stream to Blue Iris. Has anybody figured this out?
For the address of the camera, put in the ipaddress:2112
Change the model to MJPEG stream
That is all I did and it just worked
Thank you for your reply @jeffcrum, I’m glad you got it working - so it is indeed possible!
That’s actually what I did as well… So do go into a bit more detail, I have the tablet running Yakk setup for DHCP to always give it the IP 192.138.0.250.
When I go to this address in Chrome, I get a video stream from it: http://192.168.0.250:2112/stream
Here’s what my configuration dialog in Blue Iris looks like. Any differences to yours?
However, Blue Iris shows “Cam24: No Signal” and “HTTP: 12029 Cannot connect”.
I truly only changed what I listed.
I put the port on the URL and left the port fields alone.
When you change the Model, it puts something where you have /stream.
I left what it put there.
I can’t look at it right now. I’ll come back with a screen shot this evening.
I just tried exactly that, and it worked! Thank you @jeffcrum!
So the trick is to put the port number in the address, not in the port boxes on the right. Also, no need to add the /stream to the profile, it can be left as /mjpeg.cgi. So just set the address and the Model, and voila it works! Here’s a capture of the working configuration:
Thought I’d provide a bit more info on performance… I’m using Lenovo Tab M11 tablets. The video they are sending is only 640x480, and the bitrate is 737 kB/s. On top of that, the dynamic range of the front facing camera on this tablet is terrible. I knew MJPEG encoding isn’t great, but this is pretty bad considering that other H.265 cameras in my system are 2688x1520 with bitrates around 20 kB/s. For me it isn’t worth the high bitrate for such low quality video, so I’m removing this from my Blue Iris system and will plan to install a proper security camera instead.
Thought I’d provide this data in case it’s useful for others going down the same road as me.
Totally agree. Sorry, that discussion did not come up.
@Balint133 Technically, can Yakk expose a service to wake the screen that would work even on Android 14 ? I’m trying to use my wall -mounted tablet as a recipient for TTS notifications, but they are playing only after I unlock the screen.
Hi!
The app is amazing! Thank you!
I have one question, though.
Is it possible to use it as a trigger for Macrodroid?
I am trying to use it to auto-off my photoframe (running on an Android tablet) if there is no motion around it for, let’s say, 10 minutes, and then turn on immediately after the motion is detected.
In other words, I would like to somehow get triggers from your app and use them with Marcrodroid.
Do you think this is achievable (maybe configuring a webhook that can be triggered when motion is detected)?
I have the same issue. I would like Yakk to turn on the screen when motion is detected, but after x minutes the screen should turn off again.
Very nice work. You saved my live. Live long and prosper.
Good evening.
I installed this application on Samsung SM-T355 (Android 13), gave all possible permissions, which are specified in the instructions, but there is no image from the camera in the preview window. There is a message that there is an “Сonnecting to Motion Detection service”. Cameras, which are in the tablet itself, the application determines correctly. But there is no image and, accordingly, it does not work correctly.
Tell me, what could be the problem? I spent almost a day trying to understand what the problem was.
I hope for your help.
UPD: i test this app with other Samsung tablet, SM-T285 (Android 7.1.2) not work. Camera preview without picture and show message: “Connecting to Motion Detection service”
