have you enabled LAN access for the bulb (in the yeelight app - I dont know that you can do this in MiHome - and this isn’t the same as unlocking zigbee hub in mihome)
Thank you very much, after enabling lan in yeeling app it works as expected
Thanks It works also for me!!
responding to my own question, no you can’t open LAN access in MiHome - BUT you can use the same login to yeelight in MiHome - and have the devices in both apps quite happily.
Could you please explain how to do this? I can only see a device in Yeelight when I delete it from Mi Home. And the other way round if I want it to appear in Mi Home…
Thanks in advance.
Dont delete it. If you connect to Yeelight with accountA, add the device, and then connect to Mi Home ALSO with accountA, you are looking at the same cloud account.
it should appear in both
I checked again and Yeelight devices did not appear in Mi Home. But then I reread your message: “you are looking at the same cloud account”. That is the problem: Yeelight is using a European server while Mi Home is connected to China server. I’ll fix it when I get back home.
Thanks for your help!
It shouldn’t matter. My Yeelights are on Singapore server and my switches are on China. I see all of them in the MiHome app.
I have switches, the hub and several sensors in China server. Muy lamps are in Europe server. It seems they are not compatible: I can’t see in Mi Home anything I have in Yeelight. And the account is the same, my MI account (Xiaomi phones from many years ago)
In MiHome you need to switch the server as well to see them but they are all on the one account.
Ok, I didn’t think of that. I understand that there is no chance of creating automations between different servers then, isn’t it?
Thanks and regards.
Not sure what you mean. Once they are in HA you can do anything with them that you want. HA doesn’t care what server they are on. Yeelights when LAN mode is enabled will use the Yeelight integration. There is also an Xiaomi (I think integration). It’s a little more complex because you need to ket the ‘key’ out of the database on your phone. My smart plug (version 1 WiFi Xiaomi) and my Yeelights all work in HA and I can control just like any other device. Once you have them in HA you don’t need to use any app again. (Although once or twice my Yeelights have disabled LAN mode for some odd reason and I needed to renewable them)
in some yeelight models they are disabling lan mode. do you know how to reintegrate without lan or using the token?
After many tries, I gave up with the Yeelight Integration. It was a big waste of time…
Now I configured the yeelight bulb with HomeKit integration (using the XXX-XX-XXX key) and it is working great. No more random “unavailable” devices.
I will try that too, because it just sucks that the Xiaomi lights keep making problems…
Interestingly, my Yeelight Bulbs (1 SE) seem to be not compatible with HomeKit, as there is no key on the bulb. So NO solution, and half of my home is going down…
I just received a new firmware for my 2 disconnecting Yeelights.
Version: 2.1.7_0036
Release note:
- Optimize network stability
I installed it on only one of them to test it out.
I would be cautious updating the firmware for yeelights - I hear that there have been cases on the LAN access being disabled for non-yeelight (eg MI/Xiaomi) devices.
Ok, I had a small interruption of my network and the Yeelight I upgraded with latest firmaware came back up, the other one I didn’t upgrade became unavailable (and stayed unavailable).
So I’m gonna upgrade the other one too with firmware 2.1.7_0036
i am having a very similar problem, but i believe it’s caused by something else:
i have a few older yeelights, that no longer receive firmware updates. LAN control is still available for them, no Homekit support, etc. Lights are on a separate VLAN with fixed IP address and without access to the internet to avoid a potential firmware update removing LAN control.
now from time to time, these lights disappear from home assistant. when i enable internet access on the VLAN i can control the lights from the xiaomi or yeelight app and also removing and readding the integration “fixes” the problem with home assistant, but then after a few weeks it happens again with another light.
do you have any idea why this is happening?
