ZBMINI doesn't trigger switch state change

Hi, I’ve come here after hours of trying to get the Sonoff ZBMINI I’ve just received to work.

What works?

  • connects to home assistant
  • can turn on/off the connected light through home assistant

What doesn’t work?

  • turn the light on/off with the rocker switch connected to the ZBMINI

Here is my circuit, based on the docs:

Could be the picture, but it seems Blue and Brown share the same hole in the switch.

It’s the picture, they don’t

Show a picture of the switch, or just answer this:
Is it a rocker switch or a momentary switch?

try shorten the switch terminals (light grey) on the mini with a jumper cable to eliminate faulty switch or connection from switch.

It’s a rocker switch

I’m sorry, but I don’t get what you mean by “try shorten the switch terminals”. I just tried with these cables, doesn’t work either:

Was gonna suggest the same thing as @bartvdg. Use a small piece of wire to short out S1& S2, but this is dangerous because you’ll be working close to live voltage, so I cannot (officially) recommend that.

EDIT: we’re posting at the same time and I’ve seen you’ve gone ahead and done that. So nothing happens if you touch the ends of the red & yellow wire together?
(Keep your hands away from the ends!)

No, nothing happens. :sob:

Then you’ve got a damaged zbmini. Sorry dude.

I’ve returned the defective “ZBMINI” and bought a new one which should arrive today, so we can confirm if that was really the problem.
