ZHA not detecting Zigbee devices

I am a HA noob. I apologize if the answer has been under my nose. I have been searching everywhere and have tried several things. I have a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus-P and have been trying to add devices through ZHA. It just searches for the devices but no device is detected. I have tried adding a Hue motion sensor and an Aqara motion sensor. They are both in pairing mode. Because it was not working I did try to download and install Zigbee2MqTT but that did not work either. I have also tried to delete and reinstall the configuration. Nothing I have tried has worked so far.

I just tried to upgrade the firmware following this video. It did not work. I entered it into bootloading mode and opened Texas Instrument’s Smart RF Flash Programmer 2. For connected devices it shows 2 devices but they are Standard Serial over Bluetooth link (COM5), Virtual Com Port = COM5 and Standard Serial over Bluetooth link (COM6), Virtual Com Port = COM6. If I try to make one a target I get an error message and the application shuts down.

I am wondering if this is a hardware issue. Any help would be appreciated.

I am getting a little desperate I don’t know what I can do. If anyone knows where I should look if this is a configuration issue let me know or if I should buy a new zigbee dongle. Unfortunately, I can no longer return my current stick but I really need to add some Zigbee devices and I have looked into all the resources I could find online.

I tried to configure a new zigbee dongle from a different company and am still not getting anywhere. I am out of any possible solutions. I don’t know what to do and where to go. If anyone has any possible solution or can even point me to where I can find a solution, let me know. I am not opposed to putting in work to find a solution but I have limited knowledge or experience with this stuff and have not been able to come up with anything.

I bought a Hue hub. I really wanted to be able to do this without adding a new hub. I am unable to find any other solutions. If anybody is able to point me to any other solution I would love to have my zigbee stick working at some point. I am even willing to pay someone that can help me fix this issue.

  • What kind of computer are you using for your HA server? A RaspbeeryPi, Home Assistant Green, old laptop, etc.
  • Is the dongle connected directly or with an USB extension cord. Which type of USB port is it connected to?
  • Which install method are you using for your Home Assistant instance?
  • Have the different dongles/hugs shown up in ZHA?
  • Is the dongle/hub located in the same room as the sensors?
  • Do you have any Zigbee router devices like lightbulbs, smartplugs, or switches?
