Hi, I am thinking of getting a Zigbee controller to get the data directly from Hue and Tradfri sensors/switches , instead of using the rest-sensor/updating from the bridge. Do you guys have experience which stick is the best (for european use, if not all regions talk on same frequency?)
I also found HUSBZB-1 has been super reliable for z-wave, on raspberry pi zero w.
Zigbee works, but has quirks, I always thought it was just the odd ball devices I’m syncing directly with (Philips Hue lights, chinese knock off sensors, etc) but starting to lean that it is just buggy. Looking for another device that just works with Zigbee and more reliable. Anyone with experience on this?
Are you using zigbee
or zha
? I know zha
has its quirks iwth some devices. deconz
would be an alternative to look into.
@dshokouhi using zha, would zigbee mesh into external zigbee lights/components?
It’s odd because at least once a month all the zigbee devices with zha/HUSBZB-1 - mainly lights, just stop working. I have to do a full reset of the Hue lights (hijack) and Sengled (by switching on/off 10 times), then a zha permit in Home Assistant. I also have been assuming it’s the HUSBZB-1 stick with the issues, could be something going on with Home Assistant too.
I’ve been having a handful of issues with my Senled bulbs since updating from 66 to 71 (now I’m using 72.1). My error log is full of “Updating zha sensor took longer than the scheduled update interval 0:00:30” that pops up 2-3 times a minute. If I reset HA, the bulbs work again for a bit, but then this same error pops up.
I’m using zha with HUSBZB-1. @kevinw sounds like re-adding all the bulbs might do the trick? Anyone else have any other suggestions?
This setup has worked flawless for me until I updated Home Assistant. I don’t think the hardware is the issue.
HUSBZB-1 0.72.1 with 4 Sengled 5000k bulbs. Only zigbee devices I have. Only issue I have is if I restart the container they get out of sync for a bit or when the power goes out or flickers they come back in the on state. I haven’t had to add them back again except once when I was using the Smartthings hub one of them fell off while the power was out.
Don’t have any Hue stuff though.
