Zigbee devices not shown at HA

Did you delete everything after line 22?

That was all required. Your config file is invalid. See the Zigbee2mqtt docs on what should be in there.

https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/guide/configuration/

Perhaps you would be better off with ZHA?

Later when i am at home from work ill try…

Yes im not a programmer, coder or an IT specialist, i am only a pc basic user.
When i want a new integration i go to youtube and look for a toturial and make exactly the description of that tutorial but dont work or the youtuber dont explain everything

ZHA an deconz works but there are too less entities for the aqara motion sensor. I need the occupancy time setting and thats only with the zigbee2mqtt integration possible

for example i saw this tutorial und made exactly what he explained. Step per step…

But in the end it dont works (and ‘‘all’’ other zigbee2mqtt youtube tutorials the same)

Whats going wrong?

  • in his HA installion it works - in my case not?! Do i have another HA?

  • did he forget a few parts to explain?

  • does he want to confuse the viewers?

i dont understand…

I don’t have the time to watch the video, all I can tell you is that the setup for the Zigbee2mqtt addon changed recently. Follow the docs. It does work.

I spendet hours and hours again…still with no sucess

Please HELP!!

Hey, i’ve watched the video too… I’ve excatly the same problem. Everything work’s fine, but the devices and entities are not avalable in home assistant. I even test reinstalled Home Assistant and went through everything again. Unfortunately no success. The devices are only visible in the zigbee2mqtt frontend.

I may have found a solution for me. In the settings of the “Mosquitto broker Integration” a username and password are stored. You can find it under: Cinfiguration → Devices & Services → Mosquitto broker → Configure → “MQRR Settings” Re-Configure MQTT. After I putt in the username and password in the zigbee2mqtt setting: Zigbe2mqtt → Settings → MQTT, it seems to work. The devices are now displayed in Home Assistant directly after pairing with z2m!

In my case it also works now but …

In the zigbee2mqtt overview i can change now the occulanc timeout to 10 seconds (standard 90 seconds) …and in the HA lovelace the motion sensor gets back to status normal but it dont restart to look out for a motion after 10 seconds only after 50 seconds!!!

Watched the same video! Sped a whole day with this. Added Password and login directly in Zigbee2mqtt config file.
mqtt:
server: mqtt://core-mosquitto:1883
user: homeassistant
password: [password generated by Mosquitto broker]

it works!!!

Hi,
It used to work yesterday but I must have changed something

The devices are showing up directly under “homeassistant” and not under “homeassistant/sensor” or “homeassistant/switch”

And because of that they don’t show up in the MQTT integration as devices…

Any advice please!
