How To Restore Light State at Restart of Home Assistant. Seems like I’d have to create a bunch of"helpers", one per zigbee device I want to monitor…

Haven’t tried this, but could the states that need monitoring be in a group and just monitor the group ?

Hmmm, can’t remember if I have tried that yet. Would be simple to try. Its just using the HA automation and helpers. No fancy coding, all done with the GUI. So if the GUI supports what is being done in the video, it should work…
