It’s listed in the docs for the community addon
I hadn’t heard of this add-on until today, does this run on top of the regular Zwave JS add-on or does it replace that?
It’s ZwaveJS2MQTT, it was renamed 6 to 8 months ago to Zwave JS UI
Oh, ok. Thanks.
Hi,
running fine so far. I only have two things.
- I have included a plug (ABUS SHHA10000) but when I look at the network graph it looks like it isn’t connected to the controller but I can control it in HA.
Besides that can I somehow force device to use the plug as repeater (everything starting with “Bad”)?
- How comes that all the device become unavailable for some short time regularly?
For example two of them
(“Nicht mehr verfügbar” == unavailable)
Thank you!
Hi @petro,
I have replaced the plug with an “Aeotec Ranger Extender 7”.
I wonder why the other two device in that “Bad”-Group don’t use the range extender?
I thought that they would have a connection to the repeater as soon as the repeater is in the network?
Thank you!
The diagram can be misleading, it does not necessarily show the actual routes.
But the RSSI of the devices didn’t get better…
Node 6 in your screenshot uses a direct connection, node 7 routes via node 12 (is that your repeater)? At the moment, routing decisions are made autonomously by the controller and it doesn’t always choose the best routes. -80 dBm doesn’t look too bad though. Anyway, thw Z-Wave JS project is working on adding support for enforced custom routing, but those facilities are not there yet.
Hi,
thanks. Didn’t notice that my node 7 routes via node 12 (my repeater).
I can see that my node 6 routes via repeater as well
The graphic is a bit misleading…
In the case of node 6
(1) is the signal strength of the node and (2) is the strength to the repeater?!? or what do these two values represent? Why can (1) be so bad? The Thermostat is about 2 meters away of the repeater and is in the same room.
Thank you!
Actually, they rout via Node 13 (not Node 12). Which one is your repeater?
My mistake…my repeater is node 13
Hey wow a couple years ago I migrated to ZWave JS to ZWaveJSMQTT and hadn’t thought about it since. Should I have moved to something else? Just Zwave JS? I remember being told that the ZWaveJSMQTT had a better UI at the time, so what’s going on currently?
Still the same, except that the upstream project has been renamed (to Z-Wave JS UI). The add-on should have been migrated to the new name during updates. If it has and you are on the latest version (1.12.0), there’s nothing to do for you.
Oh great, thanks for the reply! Where do I look for the version number? Also, I remember I had enabled: “Disable MQTT Gateway” to do it - no changes there either?
In the “Add-ons” section of the settings page.
And yes, you don’t need MQTT for this.
Yep, I’m at 1.12.0. SO - I do nothing, and like it! Heh, thanks for setting my mind at ease.
