I live in the Pacific NW… I’m building a rather large house from the ground up (eta Oct. 2020), and evaluating HA to see if I’ll be comfortable doing all the automation myself. I’m currently working with a Hass.IO installed on Ubuntu in a VM running on a Synology NAS. Long term plan will likely have a NUC or full server for HA in a rack with the home theater gear.
