Introduction: I’m a person who is interested in home automation and how it can improve my life and provide an enjoyable “hobby” in my precious spare time. I work in the healthcare sector and have had little spare time over the last year or so. However, in what spare time I have, I’d like to better understand how I can automate my home in a useful and productive way.

Currently, I have a mixture of goodies ranging from Lightwaverf, Hue, Aqara Hub and sensors, Nest thermostats, Meross plugs and a full1080p CCTV NVR (Dahua).
Thanks to the kindness and dedication of individuals in this community and the guidance they’ve provided, I’ve been able to install (on the 7th attempt) a full HA supervised environment (or is it the OS model) on a VM on my Synology NAS (918+, 16Gb Ram and 500Gb NVME cache ssd).
I did this from the OVA file provided by Fredrik and bearded tinker, thank you sirs!
