Self-host everything, no subscriptions if I can avoid it. Home Assistant on my own hardware, Frigate for cameras, and a pile of ESP32/ESPHome projects (dishwasher auto-start on cheap power, TV-controlled speaker volume, more coming).

Currently building a new house with the smart home infrastructure designed in from day one.
