I have a handful of 10" PoE Touch screens here that I want to give away to people.
They run WinCE 6 and can are not very powerful, but ive been using some running HADashboard for a week now and its been super stable and responds instantly.
Im working on porting ubuntu to them and would appreciate any help from people that have experience porting linux to an i.MX51 SoC or similar…
Would anybody be interested in one or some???
Theres an html5 browser installed that autoruns on boot.
Wow! I would definitely appreciate to have one as well! Problem is that shipping to the moon might be closer: I’m in Canada.
Would you ship it here? Of course I’ll take care of all the stuff (estimate shipping cost) if you can give me the box dimensions along with the weight. If you can (and want to do it), my family would definitely appreciate it!
ok heres a handful of photos, its got an ambient light sensor, some RGB leds, a PC speaker, RFID(NFC) and some other doodads which could be useful if we make any progress!
Thanks! I’ll still have to find the switch to tell the board to boot from SD card too, hopefully I can trace out from the schematics or find test points for it
ive foudn a few useful test programs inside some of the units, they allow testing of the RFID (it has both NFC and 125khz HID (and some others!) as well as testing setting the RGB LEDs to various colours
I have been meaning to get my hands on one of these for a while to use for HA build, mostly for the front door camera viewing but also a dashboard. Where can I get one of these?
I was looking at some cheap android tablets as an alternative but this seems much more stable.
@CountParadox So from I managed to research, even if i compile everything and package it for sdcard it will not boot unless you make some changes to U-Boot.
That board has i.MX515 800 MHz Arm Cortex-A8 CPU. As you have this device try to follow this tutorial. This is the closest I could find to what you need.
